OK, we are still in California not Africa as the blog title would suggest. Consider the current title to be my way of telling the universe that we will in fact keep blogging once we are in Africa rather than once the novelty wears off in... um.... give or take a few days. You hear that universe! The Sells are blogging and there's nothing you can do to ... yeah I'm so not finishing that sentence.
So today Lance and I went through his clothes making piles for Goodwill, Africa and storage. All the Army logo stuff stays stateside as well as any shirts that scream "Hey it's an American!" Sadly, this may mean I leave behind my Schoolhouse Rocks "I'm just a bill" t-shirt. These are just the tough sacrifices one must make. (lol)
So tonight we caught a showing of Blade Runner, The Director's Cut at a local artsy theater. It was gorgeous (movie though the theater is very nice as well.) I really liked how the director had city lights constantly invading through windowns and ceiling etc. Like the intimacy of whatever was happening in the scene was temprary at best. I wonder if that is what it's like living in a city. It sure felt that way in Teagu on nights the national soccor team was playing. Anywho, we had popcorn and soda and red vines and the movie was preceded by the great Bugs Bunny cartoon where he is chased by the red harry monster in mad scientist lab. Sigh. Really what more could a girl ask for?
